What color should my micro braids be???????

i'm light skinned african american, like beyonce skintone i have nautrally sandy red hair. I want to get black hair for my micro braids, but what colors should i get? I'm 16 yrs old, keep in mingd i cant wear exotic hair colors to school.

What color should my micro braids be???????

Try to get the color that best matches your hair color. When i had microbraids, my were plain brown, but my hair is a mix of dark brown, black, and chocolate brown. Even if you get a plain color, it might mix well with your regular hair and appear to be higlights. They also have more expensive human microbraiding hair that has a blend of colors to best suit your own color.

What color should my micro braids be???????

Get Purple and Blue Mix it up Streks Streks pretty colors brings pretty comments Report It

What color should my micro braids be???????

Salaam Alaykum,

Sorry about the purple..I just thought it would blend well with natural red after further examining your question my thumbs up to the first poster. It makes sense.

Wasalaam.

Chin waxing situation?

i was wondering when females wax their chin for example an African American, about how long does it take for the hair to grow back. if the hair grows back does the hair grow back like a man, you know more thicker than usual?

Chin waxing situation?

Everybodies different, usually 3-4 weeks it will grow back.

If a women shaves (DON'T DO IT, NOT EVEN ONCE) then, it tends to grow back thicker, like a mans.

Chin waxing situation?

Hair does not grow back thicker/darker. This is a myth. It appears to at first because it is first coming out, and has yet to be exposed to sunlight (which bleaches hair). If you wax your chin you will not grow a beard! (unless you have some weird chromosonal thing)

I think it depends how fast your hair grows. Normally, when I get my eyebrows waxed, it takes about 2 weeks for anything to start growing again.

A question for African Americans!?

What is the best shampoo for really dry hair?

A question for African Americans!?

im white.

A question for African Americans!?

something with a balanced ph. doesn't have to be expensive. a shampoo is for the purpose of cleansing the hair. of course you would want to choose products that are formulated for dry hair. caucasians shampoo daily and to remove oil from the hair, we shampoo less frequently and need to add oil and or moisture to the hair. i use a product called Breakthrough it's a SoftSheen Carson product. it's great for chemically treated hair. what is really good is to make sure you use a good moisture sealer like olive oil or something olive oil based to put on your hair after shampoo and before styling. keep it simple. when hair is wet it is at it's weakest state and you should lock in moisture by putting a moisturizer on it at this time. i don't know if you blow dry or air dry, just make sure to lock in the moisture with a good moisturizer. i wish you the best

A question for African Americans!?

Any moisturizing CONDITIONER (not shampoo, necessarily) will help, although a moisturizing shampoo can't hurt either. The best moisturizing conditioner for dry hair, hands down, is Olive Oil. Pretty much any brand will do. Follow the manufacturer's instructions and you'll notice a fairly immediate change.

More importantly, you shouldn't wash your hair daily, especially if you already have dry hair. You might want to try washing no more than twice a week, and massaging some oil into your scalp. An olive oil-based moisturizer will make a world of a difference.

Just curious what my baby will look like.?

My husband is german/colombian. He's the odd one in his family who just happened to end up with red hair (on the darker side more of an auburn-reddish color) when his brothers, sisters and parents have dark brown hair. He's got brown eyes and is very tall. I'm african-american/french/scottish, dark brown eyes, close to black hair. Just super curious how our baby will turn out. I know I sound childish but it's very late and I have nothing else better to do. lol Maybe a biologist will be able to answer me with porbability or something of that sort. I remember learning about this is biology class. :)

Just curious what my baby will look like.?

Do both his parents have brown eyes? If so, your baby will have brown eyes, although if his is lighter brown then yours it may be lighter brown. The hair will be dark brown also. It'll look like it has reddish brown highlights.

Anyway, your baby will be the most beautiful thing you'll ever see and he/she will be perfect, just like my son is to my eyes.

Just curious what my baby will look like.?

Your baby can look like one, both, or neither of you. S/he could have your dominant genes (e.g., brown eyes) or your recessive genes (e.g., blue eyes). His/her skin color will probably be anywhere from as light as your husband's to as dark as yours...

Just curious what my baby will look like.?

Here is the result for what color eyes your child will have. Sorry if I put in the wrong information you can do it again. Just press the yellow reset button. I hope I helped a little bit.

Just curious what my baby will look like.?

There's no way of knowing what the baby will look like until he/she is born. But it's always fun to guess.

I have seen the website Glow1989 posted... It's not 100% accurate. They said that it is impossible for both of my parents to have a child with my eye color. I know for a fact that both of my parents are my actual biological parents. I have a recessive gene that only shows up in the family once in a loooooooong while.

Just curious what my baby will look like.?

It will definately look like you. Forget the bilogy class!

Just curious what my baby will look like.?

your baby will look unique and beautiful.

Just curious what my baby will look like.?

The baby will be like his Dad. Very few traits of you.

Just curious what my baby will look like.?

look around both sides of the family and see wat features are most common

Making quick money?

okay so i need a way to make fast quick and easy money. And i've talked to my friendz about dancin' cause they make quick money and i have a nice bod long hair (not fake) lightskinned green eyez (no contacts) african american big boobz and a big azz so what do you think? (16)

Making quick money?

You're sixteen. At sixteen we all want to make lots of money, quick and easy.

Dancing has got nothing to do with long hair and green eyes and a big ***. Being pretty helps, because dancing is a performing art, but it's not a prerequisite.

What kind of dancing are you talking about? I can't imagine what kind of dance style would have sixteen year olds making easy money. The way you describe it makes me think that you want to do something similar to stripping or exotic dancing or be in a "Candy Shop" wannabe videoclip, etc.

I can't say "don't do it". I'm not your parent. But I can say this: Serious dancing is not an easy career. It takes so much effort and practice and persistence. Sure, you can use your hot body to promote yourself. Prostitutes do it, and they've been around since the beginning of time! And it's not uncommon for dancers to land videoclip parts etc. by using their body as a tool to attract the director's attention. Or by sleeping with the director.

Fast and easy money just doesn't happen in dancing unless you're either really, really good at what you do AND mindblowingly lucky in landing gigs or you're sleeping with someone (director, producer, choreographer, etc.). I don't know who these friends of yours are, but they can't be your age and be making good money - or any money as a matter of fact. What kind of employer employs 16 year old dancers without their parents' consent?

Think about what you're doing. Think about your future. Do you want to dance for the rest of your life, really REALLY love dancing that much? Then do it right. Get some serious dance education. Seperate yourself from all the bimbos with hot bods that shake their bottoms in front of a camera and call THAT dancing.

If what you want is money, then at you age I suggest you find a part-time job that's respectable and that your parents know about, preferrably. It will be easy to keep up with it if you are careful with schoolwork. Babysitting is very popular and pays reasonably.

Good luck, and I hope you think about it. Contact me if you need advice.

Ellie

Do you think black hair with red streaks looks good on a black person?

Black as in African American. I'm thinking about getting some

Do you think black hair with red streaks looks good on a black person?

I think it could look really good, but you should be careful on the colour. I'd go to a salon and ask them to suggest colours, because there are so many shades of red. Really bright red could look a bit weird, but a deep red would look really good. I have dark hair (although i'm white) and have a redish-purple colour which doesn't show much in dim lighting but shines red in the sunlight. So it doesn't look completely unatural but still has a nice deep red. I think something like that would work well for you.

Definitely do your research though, buy lots of hair magazines or just normal magazines and look for pictures of people with dark hair and red and see what you like. Then also get advice from a salon. I'd suggest asking friends where they go if you don't have a salon you like. Recommended places are usually much better than just going into a random place.

Do you think black hair with red streaks looks good on a black person?

totally...just dont get like blood red...go for like an off red color! good luck!

Do you think black hair with red streaks looks good on a black person?

yea thats usually cute

Do you think black hair with red streaks looks good on a black person?

I think it would look nice, as long as the lowlights are not super bright.

Do you think black hair with red streaks looks good on a black person?

Go 4 it!!!!

Do you think black hair with red streaks looks good on a black person?

sorry but yes. it kinda looks gothy. maybe some brownish red. but not fire red.

Do you think black hair with red streaks looks good on a black person?

i don't think that a bright red would look good...uhmmm more like a darker red would look good

Do you think black hair with red streaks looks good on a black person?

No. I think African American women have a beauty all their own. And I think they should really play it up and with elegance and class. Red streaks say you're not someone to take seriously. You show your classiness and keep your hair it's natural color. The color is beautiful. Black beauty is generally more distinctive and powerful than white beauty--bone lines stand out more, and you can do anything from elaborate braiding to short curly afro to straightening it and letting it go long. Whatever, you want people to notice your face, not your hair. Work on getting your make-up right more than putting in red streaks. It's just too tacky.

Do you think black hair with red streaks looks good on a black person?

yeah. i think they would look fine.

Do you think black hair with red streaks looks good on a black person?

No. I hate streaks in all hair.

Do you think black hair with red streaks looks good on a black person?

It depends, your skin tone has a lot to do with it. Darker skinned people wouldn't look so good with red hair. Trust me, I've seen it. No offense to anyone though. But it's just the same with people who are black, but really light. Mabye a dark red like off burgundy would work for both skin tones. Hope I helped...

Do you think black hair with red streaks looks good on a black person?

yea just dont overdo it

Do you think black hair with red streaks looks good on a black person?

I don't see why not. I've had them and they looked sooo good.

Do you think black hair with red streaks looks good on a black person?

Didn't Kelly Rowland from Destiny's Child have that for awhile? I think she did, and it looked awesome. Go for it!

Why doesn't the white dominated media get blamed for the self hatred of people of color?

By people of color I don't just mean black, I mean anyone who is not of recent european descent. Even individuals who are biracial or multiracial. You have people of Indian and Asian descent that hate their skin color, eye color, hair color and eye shape. This is because in the media they ONLY show white women as the standard of beauty, particularly white women with blonde hair and light colored eyes. I guess some white women with darker features development complexes as well. When the media decides to show women of color they always pick the least "ethnic" looking ones or ones that are made up to look less ethnic or more similar to caucasian. For black women it's Halle Berry, Alicia Keys, Beyonce. All are either biracial or made to appear biracial in the case of Beyonce. They all have straighten hair and somewhat lighter complexions. If a dark skin African American or African woman looks media and never sees another dark skin woman how is she suppose to feel about her skin?

Why doesn't the white dominated media get blamed for the self hatred of people of color?

Why do people blame others for their problems?

Why doesn't the white dominated media get blamed for the self hatred of people of color?

I won't lie; I have wished many times that I was white.

But you're correct. The media are to blame.

Only how can WE change it?

Why doesn't the white dominated media get blamed for the self hatred of people of color?

as people of color advance they Will notice this is true...

ads, commericals, magazines, etc.

we rarely see beauties as you in popular ads....it is sad...

embracing venues that cater to us will FORCE the media to represent us in their advertising...

Why doesn't the white dominated media get blamed for the self hatred of people of color?

Why doesn't the liberal public school system get blamed for the epidemic of self hatred among white students.

Why doesn't the white dominated media get blamed for the self hatred of people of color?

Asains don't seem to mind. Italians are cool with it. I don't know any brown people (Pakistan/India) that seem to mind, now that 9/11 has been over for a while anyway. I think it actually is just a black thing. If you say Spanish people hate themselves too, I'll believe you. Doesn't effect me.

If any particular individual is so weak that they can't relate to peopel on TV unless they have the same color of skin. To the point where they "Hate themselves", that's their own problem.

Why doesn't the white dominated media get blamed for the self hatred of people of color?

this is a good question. but white people complain that the media always shows skinny women and the majority of women are thicker. they say some young ladies see these skinny models/actresses and build a body complex, same thing about the boobs... tons of girls get breast implants. so i guess the media messes everyone up. but u are right it is based on caucasian features. since the majority here are white i guess their concept of beauty is perdament. and since the US media travels the world sees beauty in the same way.. i guess it has a lot to do with globalization... i guess until people damn to change the media, the media won't change... people play into it too like look at rap videos those girls are light skinned mostly or have caucasian features. the media isn't going to get blame until people tell them to change...

Adding to that it has a lot to do with how ur parents raise u and how ur culture is too. i was working for the national museum of the american indian and i saw how wonderful it was that many tribes took so much pride in their culture and their features. it seemed at times that the more native u are (looking and acting) the better u were... but see this also leds to other who don't fit the features of being indian to be set aside or look down on. it could go both ways. i guess no matter what people will always have something bad to make others feel bad about themselves thats why u have to be a strong enough person like urself to go beyond that.

Why doesn't the white dominated media get blamed for the self hatred of people of color?

we bring it upon ourselves --- its time to let it go ---- if we dont play into the hands of the people---then there wouldnt be an issue----- myself i dont allow it to be brought up --- move on and live in peace----- if they have nothing to talk about the subject is changed ----- good glad u got that

Why doesn't the white dominated media get blamed for the self hatred of people of color?

You may be from Uganda, but you sure don't look "ethnic" to me.

If people have to rely on the media for their self-esteem, they'll never have any. Don't take the responsibility away from the parents, preferably both, to instill self love in their children. If it comes from anywhere else, including teachers and the media, that's just reinforcement. If it doesn't come from home, there is no firm foundation.

"House built on a sand foundation will not stand, oh no."

Why doesn't the white dominated media get blamed for the self hatred of people of color?

HUH?

There's only two white people on the news I watch in the morning and afternoon and they are both weathermen.

You need to read some books written by Bill Cosby.

Why doesn't the white dominated media get blamed for the self hatred of people of color?

Yo that's just retarded, I am a guy and I make up my own mind on which women look good.....us dudes are usually pretty stubborn (not like you women that go with whatever fad Cosmo tells you to go with), we like what we like and don't give a schit what some other ppl tell us to like - including women.

BTW most guys I ever met in my life REALLY like Asian and Indian women, and they like their looks because of their sexy eyes, and their hair/skin color, so I dunno what bullshit media you been looking at

Why doesn't the white dominated media get blamed for the self hatred of people of color?

I am not Black, but have dated Black as well as the whole spectrum of women-by the way-you are HOT.The self hatred comes from within. Many do not want to recognize it.Many Black women, themselves , do not like the classically Black features-wiry, kinky hair, broad, big nose, big bone structure(Black women's bones are 10% more dense and have a more pronounced lower spine curvature than White women), big, thick lips, and darker skin - they want the none classical Black features like multi-racial Beyonce Knowles. The media gives them what they desire(doesn't make money-won't last). This applies to all women of color. They get what they desire, not what is.

To Grizzlya above-Middle Eastern women of Arab and/or Jewish descent, Italians,Greeks and so on as well as some Hispanics are classified as White (although swarthy). You sound racist towards Blacks.

Why doesn't the white dominated media get blamed for the self hatred of people of color?

Why don't you find something important to worry about. How about instead of worrying what the media is telling weak minded drones to do and think, worry about the fact that your country Uganda and the continent that it's in has nothing to offer but whining and begging for help to combat the AIDS epidemic that has plagued it. If you don't like American media, don't watch it and quit whining.

Why doesn't the white dominated media get blamed for the self hatred of people of color?

The media does get blamed for it. But if people weren't so receptive to what the media shows, then the media wouldn't show it. Obviously the media isn't the only one's with that perspective on what beauty is. I think people are attracted to what pleases their eyes. Not what the media tells them is beauty. I think most people just agree with the media and change themselves......to make themselves happier, not the media.

Cant we all Just get along?

why do people continue to be mean I am a very good hair stylist and I get discriminated against bye African American wemon at work I had one woman say i wanted a black stylist now if i did that towards them id be Fired! or beat up or in the news for discrimation

Cant we all Just get along?

Cant we all Just get along?

Life would be so much better, wouldn't it? I tottally agree with you.

Cant we all Just get along?

maybe its because you cant spell.

Cant we all Just get along?

hummmm

Cant we all Just get along?

Cant we all Just get along?

Well, some people still need to learn how to be tolerant of others, regardless of their race, color, or creed.

Cant we all Just get along?

while people continue to see themselves as victims and always being discriminated against even when it isnt the case then it will never improve racists come in all colours black white and all others though perhaps the self racists are the worst for example ..im black everyone hates me ...

Cant we all Just get along?

We will never "get along" as long as there are groups of people who claim to desire equality but truly want preference and entitlement.

Cant we all Just get along?

Please Read!!!

1.Each morning upon rising, and each evening before sleeping, give thanks for the life within you and for all life, for the good things that Wakan Tanka ---Creator has given you and for the opportunity to grow a little more each day. Consider your thoughts and actions of the past day and seek for the courage and strength to be a better person. Seek for the things that will benefit others (everyone).

2.Show Respect. Respect means 閳ユ翻o feel or show honor or esteem for someone or something; to consider the well being of, or to treat someone or something with deference or courtesy.閳?Showing respect is a basic law of life.

o-Treat every person from the tiniest child to the oldest elder with respect at all times.

o-Special respect should be given to Elders, Parents, Teachers, and Community Leaders.

o-No person should be made to feel 閳ユ笡ut down閳?by you; avoid hurting other hearts as you would avoid a deadly poison.

o-Touch nothing that belongs to someone else (especially Sacred Objects) without permission, or an understanding between you.

o-Respect the privacy of every person, never intrude on a person閳ユ獨 quiet moment or personal space.

o-Never walk between people that are conversing.

o-Never interrupt people who are conversing.

o-Speak in a soft voice, especially when you are in the presence of Elders, strangers or others to whom special respect is due.

o-Do not speak unless invited to do so at gatherings where Elders are present (except to ask what is expected of you, should you be in doubt).

o-Never speak about others in a negative way, whether they are present or not.

o-Treat the earth and all of her aspects as your mother. Show deep respect for the mineral world, the plant world, and the animal world. Do nothing to pollute our Mother, rise up with wisdom to defend her.

o-Show deep respect for the beliefs and religion of others.

o-Listen with courtesy to what others say, even if you feel that what they are saying is worthless. Listen with your heart.

3.Respect the wisdom of the people in council. Once you give an idea to a council meeting it no longer belongs to you. It belongs to the people. Respect demands that you listen intently to the ideas of others in council and that you do not insist that your idea prevail. Indeed you should freely support the ideas of others if they are true and good, even if those ideas are quite different from the ones you have contributed. The clash of ideas brings forth the Spark of Truth. Once a council has decided something in unity, respect demands that no one speak secretly against what has been decided. If the council has made an error, that error will become apparent to everyone in its own time.

4.Be truthful at all times, and under all conditions.

5.Always treat your guests with honor and consideration. Give of your best food, your best blankets, the best part of your house, and your best service to your guests.

6.The hurt of one is the hurt of all, the honor of one is the honor of all.

7.Receive strangers and outsiders with a loving heart and as members of the human family.

8.All the races and tribes in the world are like the different colored flowers of one meadow. All are beautiful. As children of the Wakan Tanka---Creator they must all be respected.

9.To serve others, to be of some use to family, community, nation, and the world is one of the main purposes for which human beings have been created. Do not fill yourself with your own affairs and forget your most important talks. True happiness comes only to those who dedicate their lives to the service of others.

10.Observe moderation and balance in all things.

11.Know those things that lead to your well-being, and those things that lead to your destruction.

12.Listen to and follow the guidance given to your heart. Expect guidance to come in many forms; in prayer, in dreams, in times of quiet solitude, and in the words and deeds of wise Elders and friends.

Wahoo!!!

Cant we all Just get along?

Most of the time, they want a black stylist because in their minds a black stylist will know how to deal with their hair type.

Cant we all Just get along?

if they are paying for a service, they have the right to choose whom they will pay. as the shop is offering the service they are obligated to provide for the customers wishes. Has little to do with racism really. If you went into a restaurant and ordered something in a particular manner, would you accept it if it came out to you differently? In business things should not be looked at so personally, it is just a business. If you don't like what is happening to you at your current job, simply find another.

Cant we all Just get along?

Everyone has a preference so don't take it personal. I don't have anything against anyone but I will not let anyone I don't like for whatever reasons touch my hair. Have a nice day!

Cant we all Just get along?

Well some people just can live with our complaning and we should learn to get along by ignoring them, well all have different points of view and she might be trying to be better than you trying get u lose ur job or something just keep a gap and try your best at work , we can say stop or something like that but it doesn't help much , guud luck

Cant we all Just get along?

maybe that lady should just shut up and be happy with it. but i really don't think many people even like to get along with others. some people just thrive on conflict.it's sad, but true.

Cant we all Just get along?

I'm white. I would think that black women would go to the black area of town where all the stylists and customers are black. But I've always wondered if you are taught especially how to cut black hair. I'll check and see if you accept e-mails. And I so agree to your original question. Why can't we all get along? Like on "The Price is Right!" :)

Cant we all Just get along?

The world is full of problems. People don't get along. That's because it's an imperfect world. It's like a disease. It's called Sin. We cannot escape it.

Cant we all Just get along?

IDK it is ridiculous if you are a skinny white girl with a tiny butt you get made fun of?

But if you are ridiculously fat you get made fun of too?

there LIVE Yis no way in this world to be perfect so take life and make it as you want!! YOUR LIFE THE ONE LIFE YOU HAVE THE 100 YEARS YOU HAVE TO LIVE LIVE IT AS YOU NOT SOMEONE YOUR NOT

Cant we all Just get along?

Thank you Rodney King.

Cant we all Just get along?

No those other white guy's are taking up space, breathing the air and hustling the females. This means war.

Cant we all Just get along?

Some people are too lazy to be polite, even about legitimate concerns. Black hair is nothing like white hair, and if you don't treat it properly, it can fall out, die, etc. Maybe you know all there is to know about it, but I'm sure the woman just wanted to be comfortable with someone doing her hair and was too lazy or untrusting to ask if anyone else could do it.

Cant we all Just get along?

Don't take it personal, you really don't know each other so why let it bother you? customers have their preferences and it doesn't mean they have anything against you.

Like Adelaide above who has a tone of discrimination and said that spelling is the problem here, maybe should check the question 'Why? Why? WHY?' asked by che che and read what people think of people like her.

How should I go about getting a "wrap" (hairstyle)?

I'm a 17 year old african american girl and I desperately want to wear my hair down. It's medium length (i guess) but it's coarse and it seems IMPOSSIBLE for my hair to be worn down. I'm looking for a Kelly rowland type hairstyle---is it even possible for my hair to get to that condition and if so HOW?!

How should I go about getting a "wrap" (hairstyle)?

Wash your hair or you can just wet it and start from the side, put a part in it about a little then take your brush ora comb but a brush is better and start wrapping it until you get to the end then you just shape it up to make it look better. Then you put pink lotion or wrap lotion to make it hold and sit under the dryer until it is dry then you comb it down the way you want it.

How should I go about getting a "wrap" (hairstyle)?

if you go to the hair salon, ask for a roller wrap. they will put your hair on rollers and then either wrap it for you or you can wrap it yourself. if your doing it yourself, you can either roll your hair on your own or straighten it with a flat iron, then wrap it. to wrap your, first start by taking a comb and wrapping the hair around your head in the direction of your chosing, I'm left handed, so normally i wrap mine to the right. then take a paddle brush and wrap it some more, secure with bobby pins. take down when your ready!!

I know what this movie is about but i don't know what its called?

Its about a girl who gets an abortion and then runs away and lives with different people, one time a old guy, another time a Christian youth group etc. And the girl is portrayed in many perspectives. One time a fat African american girl, another time a skinny girl with red hair, and more. The cover of the movie is a fat African American girl walking through the woods. Throughout the movies theres a tune thats really catchy and its like la la la la la la la la la. lol idk how else to explain it but if you can help that'd be great

I know what this movie is about but i don't know what its called?

It's called 'Palindromes' by Todd Soldonz.

I know what this movie is about but i don't know what its called?

That is really a catchy tune.

I want my hair to grow long?

I want my hair to grow long?

GNC has a supplement called "Nourishair" that makes the hair grow faster, you can read what's in it by googling it. Be warned these pills are HUGE and you have to take 2 a day.

Also ProCaps labs sells a "hair skin and nails" formula that does the same thing, supports hair growth and health, and is smaller and easier to swallow.

If you take only Biotin alone, make sure you take at least 2.5 milligrams or 2500 micrograms [the same thing] a day because thats' a good amount to take. I use the Nourishair supplement from GNC now and my hair is growing faster than it did, but it took about 6 to 8 weeks of daily use to see results

trim it every 6 to 8 weeks, wash 1 to 2 times a week, deep condition after every wash, and sleep with satin or silk scarf or pillow to hold in the moisture in you hair. do not get anymore relaxers. try stretching your relaxers for a while. alot of black women get relaxers every time there is newgrowth. what they dont know is that you are weakening the hair and when the hair weakens it will not grow. so instead of getting relaxer ever 6 weeks. try ever 8 to 10. also, stop using hair products that contains all the bad ingredients. such as potroleum, lanolin, mineral oil. etc. those clog up you pores and stop growth as well. and for oils use natural oils, olive, carrot, etc.

I want my hair to grow long?

Keep your hair shampooed and conditioned about every 2-3 weeks. Try not to cook it so much with the curler or blow dryer. Try roller setting it every night or so for a while. Basically let it rest. It worked for me so I hope it works for you.

The products are also relatively cheap. Hope this helps!

Shampoo/conditioner....???/?

I have an Afro and my hair is often very thirsty. I can tell you that I have used several shampoos and conditioners that are decent, but there is absolutely nothing on the market like Beauty 4 Ashes GodHead Silky Smooth Shampoo %26amp; Conditioner.

The stuff rejuvenated my hair, smells great, and made my hair fluffy %26amp; super soft. Their products are all natural and do not contain any harsh chemicals or detergents that rob your hair of moisture. Plus, their conditioner is made primarily from aloe vera and essentials oils that make your hair grow. You can visit their website at www.discoverb4a.com

Sew-In Extension Problems?

Okay here's my deal. I have (had?) shoulder-length light brown hair. Wasn't happy, so I got extensions. My African-American friend encouraged her stylist and I love her hair so I went. The lady that did it put cornrows (tracks?) in a big circle around my hair and put the others inside that circle and sewed the wefts in. Now I love it and all, but I don't know how to keep up with it. She said to wash it every 2-3 weeks but I can't stand the smell from work and the smell of my natural oils. Do I wash it more often? How? Why is my head itching so bad? How do I stop it? Can anyone give me tips on how to keep my extensions shiny and healthy till I take them out? When should I take them out (cuz I'm not doing it again and i'm not taking them out till I have to, I payed $180 to get it done, hair included)? I also have loose strings and I have to wear a headband to hide some of the sewn in wefts that are so painfully visible at the top of my head, a headband's only way to hide them. HELP!!!

Sew-In Extension Problems?

i dont know if this will help your situation but i had the same problem. i cut my hair and i hated it. i recently found a new way to make it better, i also got hair extensions but i got clip in hair extension, they are really easy to do and you can do it yourself. so i can take them out when ever i want and i dont have to wait to wash my hair. mine cost me about 50 dollars (real hair not synthetic)and you can have it for a good few years. and the clips are simple to hide. you can curl them wash them whenver you want. and its not uncomfortable cause you can take them out. try to look for those. and just ask somone at a hair store if they know how to do the labor. its very easy

Half a wig, good idea or not?

I am wearing a half of wig in order to give my real hair a rest. I am African-American and my hair was over prossessed, breaking, and dry. I got it cut short and have not permed or flat ironed it in three months. My queston is how can I get it to grow while I rest it. Is a wig damaging to it? I wash it about everyother day, apply tea tree moisturizer, got it cut about 8 weeks ago, comb it back sometimes in a small braid. Is this good enough.

Half a wig, good idea or not?

I think your hair will grow just fine if you keep doing what you are doing. Make sure to take off the half wig and give your hair a rest ,maybe do that when your at home just chillin. Make sure to keep your half wig clean also. Good luck

Half a wig, good idea or not?

good idea

Good hairstyles for a funeral?

Do anybody know any good hairstyles for a funeral that i can do by myself? Here is how my hair is:

1. Its BLACK

2. I'm AFRICAN AMERICAN

3. It's come to my SHOULDER LENGTH

4. THICK

~ I really don't like wearing my hair down and it sometimes dont hold curls good.

Good hairstyles for a funeral?

Simple and classic

Half up and half down is nice

low ponytail

if you like bangs to the side or part on the side with a simple clip and ponytail..

Good hairstyles for a funeral?

i would say tied back high up in a messy bun

Good hairstyles for a funeral?

i'd say wear it half up and half down,

then straighten the half you leave down,

maybe clip it back with a cute clip to add an extra touch

sorry for your lose btw,

hope this helped (:

Good hairstyles for a funeral?

Is the deceased a close friend or family member?

Don't change it up too much,

you won't be recognized as the person you really are!

Good hairstyles for a funeral?

I'm sorry to hear about your loss.

But to answer your question, a hairstyle should be the least of your worries, especially if the deceased is a close family member. You're not there to make an impression; you're attending to celebrate the life of your loved one and for one last goodbye. Just make yourself presentable; no one is going to care that you got a new hairstyle.

Lice.. Hair?

Okay I'm just wondering if this is true or not but can African American women get lice? I always thought they could....but I don't no now. I'm not racisit or anything...i was just wondering because girls at my school are saying they dont?!?! idk tell me what you think thankx a lot =]]

Lice.. Hair?

it is POSSIBLE, they normally dont because their hair is not as healthy as caucasian hair therefor, lucky for them, the lice do not have as much to eat. It is not just african american people either. People with bleached blond hair usually wont get them either.

Lice.. Hair?

i think anyone, no matter the background can get lice.

Lice.. Hair?

I'm sure they can, it just might not be as common.

Some needed advice!!!?

I'm african american and I've just started to let my hair grow out.I get my ends clipped every 5wks.I know using grease is not wise, but I was wondering, in other to keep it looking healthy, is using castor oil (with mink oil) hair treatment and allways natural conditioning hair dress(with jojoba and rosemary oils) great to use on my hair? I use Garnier Fructes shampoo, conditioner, and leave-in conditioner when I washes it. I sometimes blow dry my hair and then flat iron to keep straight(I have naturally thick, wavy hair).

I'm trying to just let it grow out without it breaking and looking dull and dry. I do get relaxers(not box perms) and this year I'm keeping away from braids( they caused major breakage the last time). What advice is there for me to promote and keep healthy hair?

Some needed advice!!!?

dont use so much heat on the hair . if you can wet wrap your hair and let it air dry . then use a flat iron on your roots ( but everyones hair texture is diffrent ) and apply moisturizer to your hair. aside from the scalp apply a lil moisturizer to the ends . to avoid breakage in the first place. i use a spanish shampoo and conditioner and deep conditioner called selerm. it a protein shampoo and conditioner . its great . and i recently tried sunsilk hydra tlc with keratin( 24/7 creme) . i put it on my ends at night. it makes your hair so soft and smells good .its the pink bootle.

Some needed advice!!!?

Brush Cut.

What are some new hairstyles that I can try ?

I have black, sholuder length hair.

Also I`m African-American, and my hair is kinda fragile.

What are some new hairstyles that I can try ?

African Twists are very popular now.

What are some new hairstyles that I can try ?

shave it all off

What are some new hairstyles that I can try ?

mohawk. itd be different.

What are some new hairstyles that I can try ?

Sorry sweets I am all out of ideas for now that is, check back w/ me!!! Hollllllla!

What are some new hairstyles that I can try ?

Try a real short look, like Halle Barry used to have, if you have the right face shape, it looks really good.

What are some new hairstyles that I can try ?

get weave

What are some new hairstyles that I can try ?

You could try french braiding. I have long waist length hair and I love it when I get it french braided. I also use Conair hot rollers with felt lining on the rollers. The lining on the hot rollers is very good for fragile hair. And french braiding will not damage your hair.

WTH?Why are they so effin arghhhhh?

OKay, i am a African American Girl and I am going natrual with my hair. When I was in the 6th grade, my hair was a longer than most of the girls in our class and they used to say stuff like,Who does your hair and stuff like that. But they werent complimenting me,as if to say your hair is a mess i guess.Well, my hair was never a mess beacuse my Aunt did it.It looked better than theirs I must say and yet they still teased me.Well now, they ask me why I wont get a perm (rolls eyes).I am wondering, why are they paying so much attention to me?Wth man?Btw,they dont have any hair so um -. - yeaaaa

WTH?Why are they so effin arghhhhh?

Because people are pathetic, thats why.

If you like your hair then thats all that matters, I'm sure its damn sexy. (Y)

WTH?Why are they so effin arghhhhh?

Well...this may be a case of jelousy. The reason that they pay so much attention to you could be that your hair is eye-catching. They might just love your hair and don't want to give you the satisfaction of compliments. So they put you down. It is probably to build their own self confidence.

The real thing to do--don't listen to them, and pretend like you don't care what they say. And whatever you do--DON'T make fun of them just to make yourself feel good. Then you'll be just as bad as them.

WTH?Why are they so effin arghhhhh?

My hair is long and natural. having a relaxer ws horrible. I'm mixed but even still. I wouldn go outta my way for any one. You have self esteem and great confidence and do not have to follow the crowd.

Is this possible?

I'm just curious. Can a African American have straight hair like an white person. If they have both black parents. I'm not a racist i saw a pic of a black girl toddler with straight hair. thanks guys if you can help

Is this possible?

yea i think so most of the time the dreads and stuff are stuff they do themselves

Is this possible?

i think if you are thin it is a good chioce. The straight hair donnot suit whose face is a little fat,i;m afraid.

Thick haired children?

I'm black/white. my hair isn't as kinky as African-Americans. Its still pretty curly. Kind of like Shirley Temple curlers. If I had a baby with someone with straight hair. Which would they most likely turn out with? Wavy,Straight,Curly?

Thick haired children?

wow i never knew someone who cared about their babys hair type!

It will most likely turn out Wavy but straightens easily almost like Hispanic hair!

it will deff` not turn out straight because mixed hair + straight hair does NOT = straight hair lmao!

Thick haired children?

95 percent straight.

5 percent chance of it being wavy.

There's like almost zero chance of it being likle african american hair if thats what you're thinking

Thick haired children?

wavy

Ethnic hair leaving a large dark spot on pillow case- prevention?

My husband is african american and is leaving a large dark spot on our pillow cases. When I put a new one on the pillow withing 3 days it's there again. It's ruining our pillow cases and we don't have the money to buy more and more pillow cases and if we had one for every day of the week I couldn't get him to change it everyday. Washing it doesn't always take care of it. Are there some remedies or preventatives out there?

Ethnic hair leaving a large dark spot on pillow case- prevention?

Put a pillow case on there that you don't want to ruin. Sounds like he uses hair in his oil that is soiling the pillow case. I doubt he will part with his Murrrays or whatever he is using on his hair, so I recommend that you put on a pillow case that isn't a part of your bedding ensemble. I have pillows that are a part of our bedding ensemble that I don't sleep on. And I have a pillow that has a satin cover on it to keep my hair soft. I swap mine out every few days. Maybe you just need to consider swapping his out for him, even if you use ones you buy just for him. But no...don't know and have never heard of any "preventives."

Ethnic hair leaving a large dark spot on pillow case- prevention?

saftey pin a towel 2 th epillowcase or soemthing like that just make sure the pin don't come undone. that would kinda hurt

Ethnic hair leaving a large dark spot on pillow case- prevention?

I think what it is, is the natural excessive oils in the hair that is causing your marks on your pillow cases. In this case hot water washes should remove it. Or soaking for a couple of hours in something like Napisan or Dynamo before a good hot wash in either of these two products. Good Luck.

Ethnic hair leaving a large dark spot on pillow case- prevention?

Ask him if he would wear a scarf or a durag. Sorry if its spelled incorrectly. But he would know what Im talking about

Ethnic hair leaving a large dark spot on pillow case- prevention?

lady bug is right, pin a towel on the pillow case to prevent this or make him wear a head rag. Or he can wash his hair 3 times a week for prevention.

What grade would you give me on my essay for my 8th grade social studies class?

The jazz age had a huge impact on American culture. The evolution of jazz began in the 1920閳ユ獨 also known as the roaring 20閳ユ獨. Jazz came curing era of evolution America was changing from old America to new America. Te sounds of jazz came from all over the globe. Older people in the 1920閳ユ獨 had trouble abiding with the new culture America brought fourth. 閳ユ藩atchmo閳?the king of jazz was why jazz made such a big impact on America閳ユ獨 people. 1920閳ユ獨 style and music evolution also influenced many other types of music.

The 閳ユ竼volution閳?of American cuklture began in the 1920閳ユ獨 also known as the roaring 20閳ユ獨. The start of the 1920閳ユ獨 marked the end of World War 1 and America閳ユ獨 evolution. The first sounds of jazz originated in America. New Orleans was the city of jazz in the 1920閳ユ獨 people called it the birthplace of jazz. Jazz was popular in its early days in African American communities. Without slaves being brought to America would jazz have been discovered?

The roots of jazz started in Africa. Western Africans were the first to produce the first sounds of jazz in America. When slaves were brought to America they were not allowed to bring instruments but they brought their own unique style in music. Louis Armstrong created most of the frist sounds of jazz in America. Many young children followed in Louis閳ユ獨 inspirational footsteps. The 1920閳ユ獨 was the start of some color barriers being broken.

Children, and the movement. Children made jazz music so popular. Children developed a new feel for music from the classical music to the upbeat sounds of jazz. The blues was very popular before jazz but not for kids, kids were into more upbeat sounds and rhythms. That is why they feel in love with jazz music. Some parents disapproved of jazz because of its African roots and popularity in African American communities. They preferred the mellow and light sounds of classical music. Dancing became the new fad fir teens curfews became later and children began to spend more and more time out of their homes. The shimmy and fox trot were big dance styles back in the 20閳ユ獨. Kids were used to classic music such as ballroom dancing and the waltz not the upbeat movements of jazz. Jazz broke many color barriers between African American children and white children. Many children閳ユ獨 jazz groups consisted of black %26amp; whites. Children in this decade were experiencing that transition from old to new America.

Women were and are the back bone of jazz they kept the movement going. Women were either backup singers or songstress. The queen of jazz is Ella Fitzgerald she was one of the first women to hit the big time. Women were not commonly seen playing instruments in the 1920閳ユ獨.Black women were mostly involved in the earlier days of the jazz age. Black women were backup singers for many white songstresses; because back in the 1920閳ユ獨 black women were not allowed to perform infront of big white audience so they got their fame from singing behind people.

The father of jazz changed America for ever. Louis Armstrong AKA 閳ユ藩atchmo閳?was dubbed the king of jazz in the late 1920閳ユ獨. He was born in a poor neighborhood in New Orleans known as the battle field. Louis Armstrong played mostly brass instruments. His music teacher was 閳ユ窚ing閳?Oliver, King taught him how to play the instruments but he made it a style all his own. Satchmo閳ユ獨 music was loved by many blacks and whites children and adults. He refused to play in segregated arenas, bars, and clubs. His band consisted of 12 blacks and 10 whites. That showed American that music is music and it doesn閳ユ獩 matter what race you are. That set a positive example for kids and many kids started to rebel against segregation. But that didn閳ユ獩 change all of America.

Jazz influenced many types of other music. Latin many forms of Latin music evolved from jazz. Latin jazz salsa and maranga have very deep roots in jazz. In Mexico City jazz was a big hit. All they did was add some Spanish and add a spicier beats that people could dance too easy. Even today閳ユ獨 hip hop was influenced by jazz. Gospel music, R%26amp;b, and soul music were also influenced by the sounds of jazz. Without jazz there wouldn閳ユ獩 be the wide variety of music we have today in America.

Jazz made such a big impact on American culture. Children were evolving and begging to love their new found freedoms. People were begging to see that music and race don閳ユ獩 tie together. Women were being appreciated more and began to more things in their communities. Jazz opened doors for many African American children to have their time to shine on stage. Color barriers were begging to crumple it was the end of world war one so it was a time for celebration. Style, hair, and all changed they made a huge transition from old to new America. That was only the begging of the 20閳ユ獨. If all that didn閳ユ獩 occur would we have all that we have today?

What grade would you give me on my essay for my 8th grade social studies class?

I'm going to have to agree with the others about your grammatical errors.

You have some capitalization errors, also spelling and punctuation. If your original does not contain these issues then you will be fine.

I must also agree that it is better not to ask questions in your essay. These can be reworded into statements without losing the impact that you intended for them to have in the first place.

I will have to diagree with Olivia, who had a very good answer, about the relevance of hairstyle and fashion to your essay.First it is not like this is being used as one of the main points of your work.Second jazz music absolutely influenced,to some point, the styles, fashion and hair of the day at least in isolated areas of America's subcultures, and was probably the beggining of music and fashion/style influencing one another.

You may want to use spellcheck, but don't rely soley on that. You use the word "beggining" twice in the last paragraph and misspell as "begging" which is the correct spelling of begging meaning : to beg.As this is a correct spelling spellcheck will not catch this one.

Other than these grammitcal errors your content is fine and relevent to your subject.A few repititions you could do without but these should not be a problem especially at an eighth grade level.

All in all it seems well researched and in the eighth grade that carries a lot of weight in your grade as research can be time consuming and many students try to avoid it.

Yahoo questions is a prime example of this as many of the questions asked here are the result of students who are mearly too lazy to do there own research.Researching material on your own is how you learn and retain knowledge.

Thank you for doing your own work, and despite a few easily corrected grammatical errors this essay should bring you a grade of A easily,B+ at the very least.

What grade would you give me on my essay for my 8th grade social studies class?

I would give you an A, it was very detailed and educational!! Good job!!!

What grade would you give me on my essay for my 8th grade social studies class?

You could easily earn a B+ or A on this essay- it's very informative and interesting. But there are a few mistakes:

First of all, there are a few grammar and spelling mistakes (for example, the missing of capitalization in "World War One" [last paragraph], and "...America brought fourth" instead of "forth" [first paragraph]) that you'll have to root through and find hidden throughout the essay.

Second, there are a few irrelevant phrases thrown in here. For example, (last paragraph) what do style and hair have to do with the evolution jazz created in the 20s? Music and fashion coincide today, but until the late 60s, looks didn't effect an artist's popularity.

And there was just one more pet peeve towards the end- I hate it when people start or end a paper with a question. I mean, unless you've been told to do that to, "leave the reader wondering", I wouldn't find it acceptable at all. You could rephrase it to something like, "If all that didn't occur, America today might not be as we know it". If you ask a question (to me, anyways), it sounds as if you're not completely sure about what you researched. Sounding authoritative and confident can make an essay shine through the others.

And again, you obviously put a lot of work into this paper, and it's absolutely wonderful. There are just a few kinks, as there are with any paper.

Good luck, and hope I helped!

What grade would you give me on my essay for my 8th grade social studies class?

you need to clean up the typos/mis-spellings. I got to the 4th one %26amp; quit reading. I will say what I read is well researched %26amp; well written but if the typos are in the original I wouldn't give you better than a B-

Why is it that White men tend to not pay attention to women of other races (Asians don't count)

I'm a very attractive woman. I'm African-American, bronze skin tone and I have mahogany colored eyes. My hair is long, black, and wavy and I am in good shape! I'm not fat at all and I have an hourglass figure. I mostly get attention from Black and Hispanic men, but Asian and ESPECIALLY White men probably look but they never approach me. Why is that? How come White men never approach/hit on me? Is there something that I'm doing to "set" them off? I'm attracted to men of all kinds of colors, but I just do not understand why it's so hard to communicate with a White guy on an intimate level?

Why is it that White men tend to not pay attention to women of other races (Asians don't count)?

I see different patterns than that - my boss is a white guy married to a black woman, one of my best friends from college is a black woman married to a white guy. When I lived in Arizona, I had two supervisors who were mexican, married to white men. But I think there are different patterns in different parts of the country and I'm sure it is also different from one city to another in the same area.

Why is it that White men tend to not pay attention to women of other races (Asians don't count)?

why worry about it consider yourself lucky

Why is it that White men tend to not pay attention to women of other races (Asians don't count)?

I know from talking to "white men" that a lot of them prefer their own race or Asians.

Why is it that White men tend to not pay attention to women of other races (Asians don't count)?

Maybe they are too shy to come up to you and say you're beautiful. Some guys, I don't care what race they are, are intimidated by beautiful girls.

Why is it that White men tend to not pay attention to women of other races (Asians don't count)?

I think some may be intimidated. There is an image of the strong black woman that I think may scare some. It's silly but people often are. Approach them most would probably like to hit on you but just don't have the balls.

Why is it that White men tend to not pay attention to women of other races (Asians don't count)?

well asian ppl are generally shy and cacausians...... I don't know

Why is it that White men tend to not pay attention to women of other races (Asians don't count)?

I don't think it has much to do with your race to be honest. Most guys are afraid to approach very attractive women because they are afraid of rejection (white men especially, ask my brother). They may think since this girl is so pretty, she surely has a boyfriend or would never go for a guy like me......you know? Take it as a compliment girl......

Why is it that White men tend to not pay attention to women of other races (Asians don't count)?

im white and i find all women of all races attractive, if they have all the right things i look for in a lady i am attracted to them. they dont approach you because they are uncomfortable with themselves, its not your fault. they are afraid of a negative reaction (a comment about race) from you if they ask you out.

Why is it that White men tend to not pay attention to women of other races (Asians don't count)?

im a white guy and well ya i wouldnt go out with an african-american no offence of anything just not my style

Why is it that White men tend to not pay attention to women of other races (Asians don't count)?

white guys are only attracted to white girls

Why is it that White men tend to not pay attention to women of other races (Asians don't count)?

Theres nothing wrong with you. Its probaly they like dating their own race. Theres many reasons for it but they missing out on something special

Why is it that White men tend to not pay attention to women of other races (Asians don't count)?

Maybe their just shy

Why is it that White men tend to not pay attention to women of other races (Asians don't count)?

I am white, I have never dare approach black chicks. It will draw attention from pubic.

That's what my parents taught me when I grew up.. . Please don't get me wrong that I do have some friends. and not concern this as racist. Just the natural reaction.

Maybe you should try approach white guys and see what happens.

Why is it that White men tend to not pay attention to women of other races (Asians don't count)?

well ill tell you but first i must say im not racist in any way and i do like black people and i practically live in a black community so theyre cool. im asian and most asian people i know would have black people as friends but would never really date them. i dont know why its just how we are i guess. but there are occasions wen an asian girl dates a black guy but i dont think ive seen it the other way around. well thats just me speaking for the asians i dont know about the white people.

Why is it that White men tend to not pay attention to women of other races (Asians don't count)?

You have brought up an excellent point. You are MUCH more likely to see a Black man with a white women, and rarely vice versa. I'm not sure why that is.

Also, GOOD point about the asians. You never see like an asian women with a hispanic man...the thought of it, although i think acceptable, is slightly weird.

So, I'm not answering your question, I'm just giving you Kudos on bringing it up. White men really tend to keep with white women. White people are just white people. It's just how we roll. *shrugs* All political correctness aside...

Why is it that White men tend to not pay attention to women of other races (Asians don't count)?

thats a good question, i dont kno why but im like that guy that you just described... i guess its because of us (Guys) assuming your another race that we like (personal for some guys, some guys are kinky with races) and a friend says your another race we might get disapointed that we guessed wrong. (such as Fergie... she looks brazilan, latino, and a little black) thats probably why we do that i Guess?

Why is it that White men tend to not pay attention to women of other races (Asians don't count)?

Hey, I'm Asian...I guess I never dated too many African American. I really think some are beautiful just like any other race. I would just put behind the race (probably not at all about race or color), just work your magic and start flirting with who ever you are attracted to...whether he is Asian, Caucasian, or any other race or mix. Heck, we are becoming as one hybrid. If you like something...go get it and human interest and smile can go a long ways. Maybe you need to stop thinking about yourself (ya, you are probably hot), but let's get pass that point (beauty is only skin deep) and see if you can connect..personality, common interests, fun to be around with, etc. Good luck in your search.

Why is it that White men tend to not pay attention to women of other races (Asians don't count)?

ummm I'm half Asian half white... and i can give you an answer... its the same basic concept as in high school when the nerds don't approach the popular girls.... its not because we know that you will say no its because of the subcultural differences....I'm a HUGE fan of rock and metal for example and it plays a huge part in my life so i look for someone with a similar interest and in general African American women aren't interested in that...the subcultural differences provide a lack of attraction for some subconscious reason

Why is it that White men tend to not pay attention to women of other races (Asians don't count)?

Keep it real. For some White men, there might be some type of stigma that would go along with a White guy dating a Black girl. Maybe some guys with old-fashioned or conservative parents might let this get in the way of getting to know you. I once connected really well with this White guy during a summer trip, but he just kind of emotionally distanced himself and ignored me even though it was really obvious that he was really attracted to me. But then on the other hand, I have been approached by or detected serious interest from Asian, Black, and White men, and my husband is Hispanic. I can think of at least three White guys I could have dated if I wanted to, and I met them in the span of a few months. And my hair is not long and wavy. It is black, but I wear it natural (twists, braids, etc). Also, I'm really dark, and have been even called too dark by other Black people. What matters is your personal level of confidence. If you believe that you can attract a man, you will. So if you've got it going on, just relax, and expect positive results. Sometimes you will need to make the first move, in terms of flirting. Maybe a White guy might not know how to approach a Black girl. I had an experience where I could tell this White guy was interested in me, and when he was around me he started using slang terms. Ummm, he didn't use them right...and it was kind of weird. So maybe the White guys approaching you might just not know what to do. Say hi, look cute, do your thing, and you'll get the results you expect. And if that one guy really doesn't pay attention, then it's his loss. Whatever. Let the preconceived notions go and amazing things will happen.

Why is it that White men tend to not pay attention to women of other races (Asians don't count)?

Whereas there are many white men who find African-American women attractive and intelligent, there is a significant minority of African-American women who simply would not consider becoming involved with a white man; and some of these women, if approached by a white man, choose to put the man off in an insensitive and unpleasant manner which serves to put the man off from approaching any African-American women in the future. In addition, many of the Black/Hispanic men giving you attention are probably looking at you in a purely sexual light (hot babe) whereas many white men place a woman's personality above the pure sexual desire. You are in a dilemma because whereas some white guys would be grateful for you taking the initiative (approaching them), thereby removing the doubt from their mind as to whether their interest is welcome, there are other guys who would read your signals incorrectly and assume you are "easy". Although I have no access to African-American women (I live in London) my experience is based on Caribbean (Jamaican, Bajan) and African (Nigerian, Ghanaian) ladies. I am actually a white guy who notices ONLY (dark-complexion) Black Queens but I am not an hourglass man - I am strictly a plus-size man.

Why is it that White men tend to not pay attention to women of other races (Asians don't count)?

Depending on where and how a guy was raised he might not consider another race attractive.I was raised in aracially diverse neighborhood.I had girlfriends who were Japanese,Korean,Philipino,African American,Mexican,Iranian,Indian,Cuban,Pu... Rican. When you look beyond race and color, you find that women are women. They arent all the same but they arent all that different either. One of my favorite songs has these lyrics:There are so many colors in the rainbow,so many colors in the morning sun,so many colors in the flowers.I love every one.

Why is it that White men tend to not pay attention to women of other races (Asians don't count)?

Are you looking for a mate or a fan club. Find your one man and stick with him.

Why is it that White men tend to not pay attention to women of other races (Asians don't count)?

thats good I think everyone should stay with their own race

Why is it that White men tend to not pay attention to women of other races (Asians don't count)?

it dont matter how u look. because white women r the bomb diggity. i am black and all mean know the attitude that comes with a black woman. so we dont like drama annd hate so we stick with the good attitude and willing to do whatever white woman. they r GREAT. and they look great too. long haired white woman r gods gift to the world.

I want a new hairstyle, any ideas?

Hair hump. Hair hump. Hair lovely little lump.

I want a new hairstyle, any ideas?

hey every one copy every thing i typed and answer peoples question with this im trying 2 get this on every page if you can ask ths exact questionhttp://answers.yahoo.com/question/?qid=2...

I'M BOSSY I'M THE ONE YA LL LOVE TA HATE I'M THE CHICK THATS RAISED TO SKATE I TOLD YOUNG STANA HE SHOULD SWITCH TO BABY AND I'M BACK WIT THE 808 CAUSE I'M BOSSY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

I want a new hairstyle, any ideas?

OOO, I like dark red (not the flashy red) in small braids. Have the beautician help you pick the right color for your face. Unfotunately, you'll probably need it lightened first. I did. If you have to use a relaxer on top of that you'll need some intesive care shampoo. The small braids don't need to be cornrows (but cornrow are just exquisite). I like it styled where 2 simple braids hold back the rest of the hair. But this is all my personal preference.

I want a new hairstyle, any ideas?

one word...mohawk...

I want a new hairstyle, any ideas?

While I can't remember the website there is a way to go into it and put your scanned face into hairstyles and see what you look like.

I want a new hairstyle, any ideas?

perm waves into it. or liek crimps in it. or have curls in them. if you saw ciara's video-get up her hair is cute in that one.

I want a new hairstyle, any ideas?

Think Natalie Porter ;^)

I want a new hairstyle, any ideas?

I would just look around on the internet. Look at a celebrity that you like and has the same face shape. See what movies she has been in and go from there. When I wanted to change my hair, I got it cut like Julia Stiles in the Prince and Me and it looks great.

I want a new hairstyle, any ideas?

Well ur 1st option would be color.... Once you pick a color, U have to pick a length, If you want to keep ur length, Then I would get a nice Flattwist Crown or Long CornRows.... If you are gonna cut it get a fresh new funky style, Those Wild short looks are in.

Another alternative is a "Stocking Cap Weave" Very Versatile. You do that short or long %26amp; it also allows ur real hair to take a break.

Hope I can Help.

I want a new hairstyle, any ideas?

Well if you plan on not doing it for a while I suggest getting micro braids.Yes they cost from 100 to 200 dollars. But it will be so worth it.And you can get hair styles with the braids still in your hair.(like twisties, two french braids,or even a cute little up-do)So give a try and holla back at ya girl and tell me how things worked out for ya.

I want a new hairstyle, any ideas?

Maybe u should cut yo hair to about 8 inches and keep the color. You can also flip you hair up or just curl it regular depending on how you feel like wearing your hair that day???

I want a new hairstyle, any ideas?

Your hair sounds really pretty dont change it...look at seventeen.com under beauty, then go to hair tips or something like that. they have really good styles there.

Why are most african americans not proud of there heritage?

Im black and i always been taught that light skin people are more beautiful and wavey curly hair is good and nappy hair is bad.We need to recongnize the self-hatetred and end it. I'n my household we never talked about finding what part of africa we came from all i heard was negativity.

Why are most african americans not proud of there heritage?

I always here about this whole "light skinned battlle" but I was never brought up to think that, I don't judge others by color or tone or hue, I judge them by how they dress or carry themselves (which is just as superficial) but I get tired of hearing about all these racial things, I'm proud to be me, not just being black, or intelligent, or bisexual, or middle class, I 'm just proud of me, and all this division does is allow more tension. Wars always start because people get too proud of who they are and wana separate themselves.

Why are most african americans not proud of there heritage?

Uhm.

You know the whole "Black is Beautiful" thing?

I'm Black but I think they should get rid of it because all it's doing is spreading more hate if you actually think about it...

Just be proud of who you are, not... WHAT you are.

;)

Why are most african americans not proud of there heritage?

Im Black, Ive got my ears gauged, tattoos, and Im dating someone whos white. For some reason "most" of the static I get is from my own people. They say Im trying to be white, and that I think Im better. Honestly I wasnt raised to see color, Im me and I do what I do because Im grown and can make my own decisions. Light skinned, Dark skinned, whatever your still black soo be proud and be yourself. Let beyonce wear her weaves, and Tyra rock her contacts............its not hurting anyone....smiles

Why are most african americans not proud of there heritage?

im black (well black/dominican) and i LOVE brown skin girls! omg, don't get me started! ha. I feel everyone should be proud of theyre hertitage n color, cuz there is always someone out there who loves it too.

feel free to IM me ppl

Why are most african americans not proud of there heritage?

it's because of the blonde hair and blue eye syndrome..that's considered beautiful and it's glorified...so somehow "we"African Americans have tried to fit into that mold...wanting to look less ethnic..because we are tricked into believing that pointer the nose the better..the less knicks your hair have the better and etc...it's horrible..i must admit I'm a victim of the b.s....

Why are most african americans not proud of there heritage?

If your not secure with your race you hate yourself... and I think its ok to be with someone of a different racejust as long as you are secure...

Why are most african americans not proud of there heritage?

Because they know it's stupid to be proud of one's race? Who cares about race? We don't live in some hundred years ago. I live now and future.

H0W CAN I PREVENT SPLiT ENDS?

My HAiR iS SH0RT.I AM AN AFRiCAN AMERiCAN AND MY HAiR iS NATURALLy STRAiGHT.iTS SMO0TH AR0UND THE RO0TsZ BUT AT THEE ENDsZ iTS REALLy SPLiT WHAT SH0ULD I D0?

H0W CAN I PREVENT SPLiT ENDS?

Herbal Essanse BREAK'S OVER...... it's a blue bottle, and it works amazing!!!

H0W CAN I PREVENT SPLiT ENDS?

Try using any shampoo and conditioner, keeping

the conditioner in the hair for a long time especially

the ends of the hair helps. Also buying hairspray thats

leave in conditioner helps too just spray some on the

tips of the hair and go. If you get split ends a lot then

go to the hair salon every month to get a trim. But I

would recommend you to try Dove shampoo and

conditioner it makes hair really soft and smooth.

I heard leaving olive oil in your hair for about 10-20

minutes then rinsing gives your hair the nutrients and

oils that it needs, but I've never tried it.

H0W CAN I PREVENT SPLiT ENDS?

Cut off the splits--once they're split, they can't be repaired. They can only be concealed by silicone products (like Frizz Ease).

Use a gentle shampoo (with sodium laureth sulfate as the detergent) and a good conditioner. When getting out of the shower, use a leave-in cream like Herbal Essences Break's Over. Once a week, use an oil treatment, like Hollywood Beauty Carrot Oil. And don't wash hair every day--put it up in a showercap on days you don't wash.

Highlights?

I'm African American and I was wondering if I can get highlights in my hair without having to get a relaxer or perm. I have very soft like hair so I have been getting my hair pressed and Dominican blow dried. I dont think my hair can handle getting a perm so can highlights work without it

Highlights?

You absolutely do not need to relax your hair to get highlights. In fact it's better not to have a relaxer. That is two chemical treatments that can be very damaging. Get your highlights done by a professional stylist and ask them how you can take care of it at home so it will stay very soft!

Highlights?

I think if the highlights are the right color for you hair they would look good but a perm is kind of alot.

hope i helped

Should i get a black girl perm?

i am african american and i have thick thick thick thick curly long long long hair!!! i want a perm so bad but i am scared my hair is going to fall out because it is rather soft for black hair and i want my hair to stay good!

Should i get a black girl perm?

I wouldn't get a perm. Because i've had a perm and i had long hair. It is still long but i had to regrow it. I wouldn't get a perm because if you change your mind and let the perm grow out it will break your hair off. If you want your hair to stay healthy and nice i wouldn't get a perm.

Should i get a black girl perm?

If it means that much to you, then why risk it?

You should go with what God gave you.

Should i get a black girl perm?

i wouldnt, soft hair and perms in general do not go together. my sister got one once and looked like a poodle, but shes white....white poodles lol :)

Should i get a black girl perm?

i think you should just get it straightened with a regular hot comb or a ceramics Hot Tool flat iron...don't do the perm...this is best...i gotta friend who is Indian and black and her hair is woooo...!!!! too curly so she just gets it straightened with either of these items...

Should i get a black girl perm?

Yes and ^^, black girl perms make your hair straight not curly. You should. Its give you a chance to show of that long curly hair. Its probably soften your curls more so it can stay straight. It should work fine. Just make sure you keep your hair healthy =).

閳?br>Should i get a black girl perm?

My hair isn't what one would call coarse, either. When my hair was natural it was soft and manageable. I chose to get a relaxer when I was younger in order to pull off different styles and have longer-looking hair. Each person's hair is different. I've never had a bad experience or lost thickness with a relaxer, but I've heard horror stories from other people. If you want your hair to be straighter my advice is to first get a texturizer or something. It may be a shock to get your hair bone-straight all in one day. The only thing is that you must give this careful consideration because once you relax or texturize your hair, you can't go back to your natural texture unless you cut your hair. And personally, I think If you've already got long, nice hair, leave it as it is.

Should i get a black girl perm?

i think perms are ok to use every once in awhile....I have a friend who is black w/curly curly hair and she uses a relaxer and after awhile her hair returns to the original state so you really don't lose your texture.....I would suggest a mild perm.....You also have the option to get your hair flat ironed,go to a salon pref black salon who deals w/ black hair....im pretty sure they have dealt w/ your type of hair before...they will straighten your hair and give you a more finish look....

Should i get a black girl perm?

Be scared because I GUARANTEE you that your hair WILL break off, and fall out. -

10 years of personal experience in this area. Salons will encourage you to do it, money in their pocket, and cost range from between $50-$150, depending on what city you are in and how long your hair is.

The misconception about relaxers is that they completely straighten the hair, not true. Think of a telephone cord, you pull it, is it really that much straighter? Some, but not what you'd expect.

It is the same way with a perm/relaxer. You will STILL need to flat iron your hair, or hot comb/press it to get it straight.

They are a catch-22, and once you get them, if you don't keep getting them regularly, your hair will begin to fall out, and break off.

Read my story online...I had to start ALL over from 10 years of perms, down to 1 1/2 inches, to get rid of all the damage.

---You know you hair is gorgeous. Don't mess it up because of perm hype. Start asking people with perms what happens when they don't get a relaxer, if their hair is weak or strong, how much they cost, and if they think you need one.

no. no. no.
