Reverse Perm?? what the??

WHAT EXACTLY IS A REVERSE PERM BECAUSE MY HAIR STYLIST WAS TELLING ME ABOUT IT... SHE TOLD ME I SHOULD TRY IT.... I'M AFRICAN-AMERICAN...I ALREADY HAVE A RELAXER IN MY HAIR AND MY 2M0NTHS ARE UP.. ITS TIME F0R A PERM AGAIN.... I WANTED TO CONSIDER A REVERSE PERM BECAUSE I HERE YOU WOULD NEED A PERM EVERY 6 M0NTHS. WOULD THIS BE GOOD ON BLACK PEOPLE HAIR?

Reverse Perm?? what the??

Q: What is a reverse perm?

A:

A reverse perm is actually the process of taking curl OUT of hair. It can be used to change a naturally tight curl to a looser curl. It is often referred to as retexturizing.

I don't believe this is for African American Hair. Since you already have a relaxer there isn't a way to reverse a relaxer. I went natural 3 years ago and I love being natural. When I want the straight look, I do a press %26amp; Curl. The only way to get your hair curly would be a curly-perm; which I have to say is so 1980's.

a reverse perm is a perm without the rods. you follow all of the same steps, except you comb the hair straight when the processing solution is on. generally african american hair is more coarse, so a relaxer is going to give you a better result. also if you have been getting relaxers, you may want to do a test strand to test the compatibility of a perm. I wouldn't advise overlapping the perm where you have had a relaxer though. good luck.

A reverse perm is a form of straightening naturally tight curls to a more relaxed wavy shape. Instead of a head full of tightly wound curls with this technique you receive softer larger curls.

It's a texturizer. My hair is very fine, so it might work for me. If your hair is thick, don't do it.
