I'm growing my hair out and I'm African-American.Can somebody give m some tips on how to style and care for my hair. How to moisturize it properly
How do you take care an afro?
well i am AA too so i understand how much of a hassle natural hair can be sometimes
well first
try only to wash your hair 1to2 a week or only when it feel dirty and oily
you can condition hair more often like 3 times a week to keep hair nice and soft if you want (when i say condition i mean just normal conditioner with out shampoo)
to moisturize the scalp i use Hollywood beauty Castor oil its cheap and wont clog the hair follice with petroleum and mineral oil(those are bad for your hair so try and avoid then) moisturize every other day so to much oil wont build up
and once in a while to help prevent breakage and to calm frizz i use Pro-V Restoratives Breakage Defense Strengthening Lotion.
also for styles i like to see when women pick the hair out and have headband on i think it looks cute(kinda like your avatars hair style)
P.S and when ever your styleing your hair be gental with it our kind of hair is very ragile even if it dosent seem like it.

Keep it edge and wash and conditioned. Then for daily moisture spray with afro oil sheen. Use a plastic afro pic and pic out small sections at a time. Try to braid it at night in big braids.
