the begining I went to take entrance exam and a AA lady was sitting next to me in front and when the teacher gave the paper for signing , instead of giving that to me she passed the paper over to the bench behind us.she hated me for no reason, the other day, an AA lady at the train station went ahead of me swaying her hair and shaking her hair, she had shoulder length hair- I felt she was trying to tell me tht her hair is original. And other instance was, the ladies skipped line. I do not know why. They are so rude. I am not trying to be racist but I do not what is the reason,Even in the class, the teacher asked who has interacial marriage-just to give an example, and I raised, and I told I am married to black american, my skin is oilve color, he tells me "you look just like black" . Why they are llike that?It hurts really hurtsand I lose confidence. I am a beatiful humble lady with beautiful long jet black hair from India

Some people are just mean, Im AA and Im nice to everyone. You probably are really cute and some black women are probably threatened by your nice dark skin and long jet black hair. AA men for some reason love long hair. You have to be gorgeous and its really a jealousy thing. Just flip that hair and dont worry about it, all of us arent like that. You must live in NY, Ive notice the AA women are really stuck up there, they think they are better than everyone, I went to college with a few girls from there and couldnt stand them either. Hmmm, Im wouldn't say it's all African Americans, it's those individuals. Some people are just rude, period. For no reason but to just be rude. Don't take it out on all AA, just know that there are rude people in this world and it's better to just ignore them and don't take it to heart.

Well, as a general rule most people of certain cultures are NOT rude. In other words, do not assume all the rudeness in the world comes from one group.

It seems they have interpreted something about you that you don't realize you are doing. The fact that you put emphasis on your skin tone and your hair texture and length may indicate that you put that out front all the time. You say you are olive tone and your husband is black toned. Well, you are putting the difference there, not them.

Gone are the days that African Americans, for the most part, would get insulted if you called them black. So that is not what offended your classmates. It was the unspoken inference that you are superior.

It is only annoying when someone skips in line and not a declaration that African Americans are in the most part rude.

Sweetheart, I make friends with men because women can be like this. I think it's more of your enviroment than the whole black female population. I live around a lot of black people and a lot of the women don't like me either but there are a lot of nice black women around here too. I'm white and I have had a lot of problems like this with white women too. I am starting to realize that they are intimidated by beauty so they act rudely.

Sounds like you shouldn't worry about the race BUT WHY YOU ARE NOT TAKING UP FOR YOURSELF. Say something. Don't let people just walk all over you. They will continue to upset you if you don't stand up for yourself. If they are rude and disrespectful you definitely shouldn't let them have the power to hurt you. You sound like your insecure of black women maybe because you married a black man. The lady sitting next to you might didn't know you hadn't signed the paper. The lady who went in front of you maybe was in a hurry white women shake their hair all the time does that mean their letting you know it's "original". It seems to me that your blowing little stuff out of proportion! It amazing that people on her are grouping all of us as rude (yes I am a black women). I read through a lot of the responses given to your question and it's sad that we're all still trying to figure this out. People are people. Period. True, 'people of culture' have different ways of acting/reacting to situations but at the end of the day, does it really matter where one came from since we all came into the world the same way and will leave the same? Maybe the woman you encountered that day just got her hair done and was feeling really good about herself. Is it because she's black that makes it wrong? So what if it was a weave. She has the right to flaunt herself if she feels beautiful, as you would with your long, jet black hair, Ms. India.

As far as the other woman jumping the line, yeah, you probably fell asleep in the line so she cut. It wasn't right but you didn't open your mouth either. Are you AFRAID to challenge a black woman? If you are afraid to challenge anyone then you will always be dismissed, walked on, talked about, ridiculed, etc. and alway angry because you think someone is personally attacking you. Sad part is, she was born here and you think SHE'S wrong.

Unfortunately for you, since you resemble those who are part of Al Qaida and the Taliban, you will ALWAYS be suspect. I think instead of trying to figure out black people, you should be concerned with why you're being strip searched when you try to board an airplane.... but I'm not being racist either.
