How can you clean the residue from a curling iron?

I am african-american and use alot of product on my hair. My curling iron collects the residue. How do I get off the stuff that is "baked on"?

a You will have to #1 make sure the iron is cool.



#2: Mix rubbing achahol with a teaspoon of water



#3: Have a scrubbing pad and dip the pad into the achahol and aply it on the curling iron.

Okay first UNPLUG the iron. Never attempt to clean it while it is hot or plugged in it will ruin the iron or burn you (duh, and too much water could electrocute you too). So yes rubbing alcohol does work and so does nail poilsh remover. Soap and water witha damp towel? only if you have the time to scrubb it off and feel like hurting your arm from all the pressure...
