Straighten a perm?

can an african american woman with a perm use a straightner in her hair as well? After awhile the perm starts to sort of wear off and I'm stuck with curls underneath a layer of straight hair. I really think a straightner could help keep my hair in check, the way I want it, but whenever I even blowdry my hair after coming out of the shower it smells like burnt chemicals so bad. =(

yes. yes it would work. use a chia straightner and put it on the higest level it can go and wait like threee minutes then clip up the top layer of hair and do underneath. then let your hair down and then do the top layer. and it should work very well. hope it works.

yes you can go get a home perm kit and straighten it though that way you know that it wont hurt your hair instead of rolling it as directed on the box comb it. It will keep your hair from frying.

theres this things call theramal straighting or professional straighting and you can get it at most salons the straightness in you hair could last as much as 4 to 5 months or you could my a very good quality straightner.....i would at least spend$50 at like a good salon like Sally beauty supply

You risk heat damage doing that. Even if you used a flat iron/blow dry to straighten out the new growth, it's not going to last. Once you begin to sweat or if your hair get's wet, it's going back to it's natural state.

your suppose to flat iron your hair after a perm to get it smoother perm just remove the nape in the hair to make it straighter. turn your dryer down %26amp; dont put it so close to your hair but it will smell after u get a perm
