What would cause my scalp to itch in the same exact place all the time?

I am african-american and have a relaxer on my hair. For those who don't know what a relaxer is, it's a chemical straightener for the hair also referred to as a perm. Anyway, my hair always itches in the center of my head at the top. Right after I get a relaxer it will be okay. But then two or three weeks later (after a little new growth starts coming in) it starts itching again, and even worse in that spot.

It becomes very tender after I scratch it. I try to not to irritate or bother that area, but it almost seems as if there's a rash or something there. I can't tell, but my scalp seems hard and dry in that area. Also, that's were most of my breakage takes place. The hair in the top of my head is very fragile and thin. I have thick hair in general, but this area is always broken off. It looks like someone pulled it out or trimmed it straight across with scissors.

You might need to go back to your dermatologist. Find one who is familiar w/black hair/skin. It might be eczema or dermatitus and you will need a special shampoo and maybe a lotion or ointment for that spot. You can just apply the shampoo to that spot and use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner in all other spots. Do you moisturize your hair? That's a must. Try not to scratch it. Your fingernails may spread it to other parts of your scalp.

it is probly lice bcause lice can get on there when its moist if u wash it after or if u dont wash it i would ask a hairdresser like unisex hairplace

It possible you still have the same problem 10 years ago as time. It maybe a ingredient you may allergic to in the relaxing process only the doctor can tell you what your allergic to and recommend them not having do it.
